Generating Non-Stop Traffic.

On my last post, I discussed some tips on how you can generate long term and short term traffic, I am currently doing a research on what digs on each of the top search engines especially Google and yahoo. I will publish my result as soon as I am through, just stay tuned.

Right now let’s talk about the order of priority of what to do to get endless traffic to your blog. Now that you are a blogger, you have a good blog and you have good posts, all you think about is how to bring people all over the world to read your articles and I am sorry to say this again, its not a small work if u want to do it all by yourself. You can cut some corners though, by paying for some services or buying some utility software that can be useful in generating traffic (watch out for that article on my next post)

The first thing you have to work on before you publish your articles is the Title – Content relativity. For instance, the title of your blog is “How to Generate Traffic” the word to concentrate on is “generate” and “traffic”. Search engine robots are very smart; before your site is crawled, they check your “Keywords” and see how relative it is to the title so you need a good knowledge on keyword usage. Meanwhile you don’t have to overdo it (writing for search engines) because if you do, your readers will be pissed off and would not come back again so be smart.

The second thing to work on is your backlinks (How many sites are linked to yours) that signifies how popular you are, the more (Related and High Ranked sites) sites are linked to yours, the more backlinks you have and the more visible you are on Google’s radar. I have published some articles on how you can do that.

Lastly, consistency is very important. As a blogger, you have to publish post frequently and you have to link your posts in a good fashion. It’s just like a weekly column in a newspaper, you relate with your readers (as if u know them), you become real to them, when they post comments, you have to respond. If a visitor comes to your blog over and over again and does not find any new article, he might not come back again so be smart.

Generating Traffic: The Secret

Generating traffic is the second most important thing in blogging. Aside having a good content, you have to make people visit because if they don’t, your blog is only useful to yourself and you can’t even make money with it. Now the question is “how can you make people visit?” The answer sounds simple “Tell them to visit” but I tell you, there is a lot of work in telling a lot of people to visit your blog because you will have to convince them, The question is “where will you find them?” and “how will you tell them?” Generating traffic is not for the lazy, you have to do a lot of work and research how other people have been successful. There are two methods to which you can generate traffic; the long and the short term.

Short term: Short term is the fastest way to generate traffic though it fades off over time; it is still the fastest and also very important. You can use the following tips to generate fast traffic to your blog:

·         Comment on top related blogs and talk about yours but you have to do it reasonably that it doesn’t look like spamming.

·         Join social networks where you can meet people and talk to them about your blog. This method has really worked for me. You can write small and attractive articles and put your link to refer people to your blog.

·         Write articles and summit your articles for publishing on article networks like www.ezinearticles.com, www.goarticles.com, www.qassia.com, and so on. These articles generate back links to your blog.

All these methods are short term, you have to work on the long term to make your traffic last forever.

·         Use of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is very important, as more of your traffic comes from search engines, the more stable your traffic is so you have to know what make a site rank top on search engines. For instance Google uses the number of back links your site has as well as title-content relativity.

·         Use feed burner to burn your RSS Feeds.

·         Summit your sites to directories and search engine. This method takes a very long time to generate results but generates good results on the long run. The time varies in relation to the search engine. Google will begin crawling your site within two weeks of submission while Alexia will promise you in eight weeks.

These are just few out of a million things you can do so you just have to continue to research on traffic by reading other people’s blog and articles and use the tips they give you, over time u will be dazed at your results.

Generating Income from every post.

For entrepreneurs and amateurs alike, blogging is one cool way to generate online activity into hard cash. You can increase the visibility of your blogs with the help of distribution tools like Technorati or FeedBurner and be satisfied with the passive dollars rolling into your bank account.

But if want to take on a more active role to monetize your blogs, then you will need to read onward.

There are quite a few sites that pay you good cash to write a review about their clients and their products/services. This is nothing new; think of it as a newspaper ad. You will be endorsing a product/service but in your own words.

The number of sites that offer 'paid to blog' memberships are so many that making sense of the lot can take up a bit of your time. However, I have taken the liberty to list out a few here. So read on -

1. Sponsored Reviews - This site offers paid reviews and generally pays anywhere from $5 upwards. Note that the higher your page rank or visitor count should net you a higher pay per review. Sponsored reviews acts like a kiosk putting the buyers and publishers together. You can bid on an offer and if the buyer is interested, he or she will select your bid. You will need to complete the review within certain duration, and the payment is paid once a week via paypal.

2. Pay Per Post - This is another good site to join. However, the site does not offer much for blogs without page rank but every now and then they come out with a $50 'free for all.' The competition is intense for such opportunities, but if your site does have a decent page rank, there are quite a few great opportunities here that you can enjoy. Payment can be made via paypal, and the site is mulling over accepting other means of payment.

3. Blogsvertise - This site sends their assignments to you by email or you can log in and click on the 'grab bag'. The site does not boast of many assignments but does send a few good ones every now and then. Payment via paypal.

4. Smorty - This site has emerged as a sort of hub, between the advertisers and bloggers. For one, the opportunities listed here are up for grabs, literally. That is, it is on a 'first come, first serve' basis. So, irrespective of whether your blog is ranked or not, you will have a pretty good chance of landing an opportunity here.

5. Blogitive - This site is similar to Smorty in the sense that the opportunities offered here are at random and on a 'first come, first serve' basis. They generally pay around $5 each and payment is made via paypal.

These are just a few sites to help you further monetize your blogs. You can register at any of these sites for free and start writing the reviews. By getting paid to blog, you will be able to net an active income on a weekly basis. But remember - you will be required to provide fresh content between each review, so keep that in mind and Happy Writing!

Is a Blog Right For Your Business?

Lemmings are cute, but dumb. If you tell them to jump off a cliff, they will. Just like the people who start blogs because everyone is doing it. Guess what happens after a little while? The blogs die.

In managing a list of many Web sites, most of which are blogs, I deleted countless sites from the list because the sites and blogs no longer existed. The people ran out of steam or had no reason to start them in the first place.

How do you know when a blog is right for your business? Learn why people start blogs, how they find their niche and how blogging tools can be used for more than blogs.

Some people like to read blogs, others like to read newsletters, still others like to rely on feeds and some read a few or all of them. No matter the method the information is distributed, each medium has one thing in common: content. Having a blog connects your newsletter and your business with all of these readers and delivers important content in a particular style.

A few bloggers tend to talk about their work, their products and their little world. That might work for celebrities where fans want to know everything about them, but it doesn't work for the average business person. Other business people want information on how to succeed and when a blog spends time hawking products offering information of no value, few people will return. The people whose products sell well are the ones who provide valuable information. Readers already know what kind of information they're getting, so they trust that when they buy something, it will be of the same or better quality. This value must be reflected in their blog. It's much like people who only sign up for a newsletter after first seeing an example.

No one wants to be a lemming (I would hope). How do you decide whether or not to set up a blog? The answer isn't black or white (what did you expect?). Ask these questions:

  • Can you regularly update it — at least five times a week?
  • Do you have something to say other than just linking to others?
  • Do you read other blogs or feeds?
  • Can you provide information of value to others not just to yourself?
  • How large is your newsletter subscriber list?
  • How many unique visitors do you get on an average day, week or month?

The big decider is whether or not you can write in the blog almost daily. The people behind the high traffic blogs post multiple times a day. Though resourceful, merely linking to other sites doesn’t give visitors much reason to make the effort to come to yours. Reading other blogs or feeds is a great way to learn how to carry a discussion. Find other blogs covering topics similar to yours and check them out. Disagree with their opinions? Write about it and explain your reasons. Cross-blog discussions are common, and that's where trackback comes in handy.

Trackback is a blog feature. If you decide to comment on another blog posting in your blog instead of in that blog's comments page, then you link to the conversation through the trackback link. Trackback is similar to the permalink, the permanent URL for the blog entry, but it has a different URL for copying and pasting in your blog's trackback box.

Aside from the technical aspects of operating a blog on a daily basis, subscriber list size and Web site traffic are good indicators of what kind of reaction you'll get when opening a blog. Starting from scratch with little traffic means you have a long road ahead and lots of work to do. There is no magic formula anyone can sell you for $97 to make your blog an overnight success. But with some perseverance and ingenuity, your blog can engage many prospects and clients.

Considering there are numerous blogs out there, pick a niche topic when starting a blog for a better shot at attracting and keeping an audience. meryl's notes focuses on three areas: webby, geeky and wordy. In reality, this is too much. What I need to do for my readers is create three separate blog entry points, so those interested in writing, newsletters and Internet marketing get nothing but the wordy entries. Those interested in Web design get the webby stuff and the technophiles receive the geeky content.

I also manage a personal blog separate from meryl's notes. It's about cochlear implants and deafness. This could fall under the geeky category, but it's a personal blog and doesn't belong in meryl's notes. This blog is written for a different audience.

The blogging tools for both of my blogs come with syndication capabilities so those using feed readers or aggregators can read the content through the software. When sending a new issue of a newsletter, comment on it or link to it in the blog, that way the blog and feed readers will get the goods, so all three bases are covered.

Blogging tools aren't just for, well, blogging. Such tools are an excellent way to help you update your Web site more often than you otherwise would. I use it to manage the list of tableless Web sites. Using blogging tools is much easier than the way I managed it before, updating the HTML files by hand. Though using a blog tool, it isn't a blog. In this case, the blog tool has become a content management system (CMS).

Small business owners don't have a need for the fancy and pricey CMSes out there. They find it easier to use blogging software to manage their sites or hire someone to adapt the tool for their site.

Blogs have found a place in businesses and people are finding creative ways to use them. Some companies have a blog on the intranet for communicating project status, jeopardies and metrics. They’re used for knowledge management. With information pouring in, blog tools provide a way to share, organize and process the information.

Being a follower can be good or bad. No one wants to walk off a cliff with the lemmings, but everyone wants to succeed. Best practices won't help, since the decision to blog is based on the organization's mission, needs and goals along with its target market's desires and needs. A blog about lemmings? There is one, sort of. Or maybe you’d like to start your own and talk about dumb business moves.

The Secret of Making Money Online: Generating Traffic to your blogs

The Secret of Making Money Online: Generating Traffic to your blogs

Struggling to get traffic to your blog? Well you are not alone, as getting visitors to your blog is the number one thing that people want to accomplish - and with good reason, the more people that visit your blog the more likely that you are going to make a sale or have someone join your mailing list (or whatever other reason that you are blogging for).

Here is the step by step plan that I do to make sure that I get traffic within 24 hours.

1. Write articles for your blog and submit them to article directories such as EzineArticles and goarticles. EzineArticles will take longer than 24 hours for your article to be approved but you will get more quality traffic from them so you should still submit your article to them. Goarticles is a lot faster (and will get you listed within 24 hours) but probably won't get you they same amount of traffic. I recommend submitting to both. You can submit the same article to both directories but for better ranking and more backlinks I recommend submitting two different articles to each directory.

2. Bookmark your site on social networks such as StumbleUpon and Digg. I seem to get more traffic from StumbleUpon than I do from Digg but it is still worth bookmarking at as many sites as you can. You can even get an account with places like Onlywire.com which will allow you to submit your site to many social networks at once saving you a lot of time.

3. Commenting on other people's blogs is another method that has proved extremely effective for me. Find other blogs that are on the same topic as your blog and write a useful comment and of course leaving your blog url as well. I get the best results when I comment on something specific in that post like, 'that's really interesting how you can do x and y results, I'll have to try it out' with my name and blog address.
There are many other effective methods such as submitting your rss feed to various feed services, exchanging links and even video marketing but these top three methods are quick and easy to do and have always gotten me lots of free quick traffic.

The Secret of making money online: Great title post are very important

When u are thinking of good traffic,The titles of your posts are very important. Traffic equals good page impressions which also equals good money. They are essentially headlines.

Not only can they "grab" people and entice them to read, but they can also generate search engine traffic, and an incredible amount of Internet traffic, including for blogs, is driven by search engines. Many blogging platforms also use the blog title to help generate the filename they store the post in, making it even more important to search engines as they consider file names in their rankings.

Great titles are different online versus offline. For example, "Look Better Naked" is an interesting title. The local health club is using it in their advertising. Hey, fit people look better naked. I think it's brilliant - offline.

Online, it has problems. It both contains no "keywords" or "key phrases," things people would search on when looking for a health club, and it's too generic. People might look because it's cute and sexy, but it doesn't particularly appeal to someone looking for a health club, and it won't help get search engine traffic.

Let's improve it by adding keywords. The follow two titles are infinitely better:

  • Exercise - Look Better Naked
  • Health clubs help you "Look Better Naked"

So what keyword is best, "exercise," "health club," or something else?

There are simple tools that will help you out. I like the free Google AdWords Keyword Tool. Other keyword tools include the well-regarded wordtracker.com which has a free trial available.

The keyword selector tool tells you roughly how many times a term has been searched on in search engines in the past month. It's the relative numbers that matter.

  • exercise has been searched on 6,120,000 times in the previous month
  • health club has been searched on 301,000 times
  • gym has been searched on 5,000,000 times
  • world gym has been searched on 60,500 times

Since this happens to be a "World Gym," and that phrase includes "gym," I'm going to pick "World Gym" and the final title is "World Gym - Look Better Naked."

No it's not exact science! "Health clubs help you Look Better Naked" would be fine as well.

In the post, include the other keywords and phrases as well to please the search engines and help people find your no-doubt great content. Make sure you include them in a natural way - i.e., write for the reader, not the search engines. Do not write something like the following garbage. People, and the increasingly intelligent search engines, will hate it!

"Health clubs and gyms are great for exercise to look better naked. Everyone should exercise in a health club or gym. Give a health club or gym membership as a present to a loved one. I love to exercise in health clubs and gyms because I love exercising in health clubs and gyms . . ."

A couple of hints:

  • Keywords at the beginning of a title are better than keywords at the end of a title.
  • Put keywords early in the post.
  • Don't obsess over this!

Make money by blogging your writeups

Do you want to write a book and make money? In the past it took years to see your book on bookstore shelves. With the arrival of blogs however, not only can you now cut down on the time publication takes, you can even make money while you're writing.

Writing your book on a blog has one huge benefit: you're no longer writing alone. You get readers while you're writing, and some of those readers may be agents and publishers.

Many authors have been "discovered" via their blogs. One example is the book "Julie and Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously": new author Julie Powell received a book contract to turn her popular blog into a book.

How to Get Started Writing a Book on Your Blog

So how do you get started? Here's my suggestion: treat your blog as your book's journal. You don't even need to have an idea for your book before you get started: blog as you explore possible ideas, and do research.

Most authors journal as they write a book, simply because writing a book takes a long time, and selling the book to a publication house takes even longer. A book journal not only keeps you inspired to write, it also helps you to overcome your doubts and fears. You can use a blog as your book's journal.

In your book journal blog, you can write about your process, your word count, and you can include excerpts from your drafts too.

If you wish, you can write the entire book on your blog, as Robert Scoble and Shel Israel did when they wrote their book about blogging, "Naked Conversations."

Publishers are actively looking for "blooks", that is, blogs they can turn into books. Therefore, if your book has a chance at publication, you may get a contract before you complete it. If you don't, why worry? You can make money from your blog, and can self-publish the book as a print or an ebook when it's complete.

Should you write your book on your blog? If you're committed to your book, blogging gives you the chance to take years off the publication process, and to make money from your book too, long before it's completed.

This is just the first tip, stay with me and you will see more.
