Internet Marketing in Nigeria: Get Information

Nancy Kline a U.S author once said, “Withholding information from someone is an act of intellectual imperialism. Not bothering to seek accurate information is an act of intellectual recklessness” and I quite agree with that. Sometimes, there are always problems when seeking accurate information but basically, the problem is always “Not bothering to seek information” and this affects us particularly if you are from Africa or probably Nigeria.

A lot of us (Nigerians) suffer due to lack of knowledge. A lot of is wrong with the average Nigerian Youth mindset; we keep looking outside for the safest alternative of searching for jobs, very few are willing to look inwards and build greatness and wealth out of themselves. It’s a mediocre mindset if all you think of is to graduate and get yourself slaved in a company that belongs to another graduate and most times; a school drop-out.
Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest Billionaire.

Unfortunately, we all believe government’s bad, the country is difficult and there are dark forces impeding our efforts, so we tend to relax and give-up. If you are still sitting at home waiting for vision 2020 or perhaps thinking wonder banks will come back, you will grow old still waiting to ‘hammer’. Great achievements we see today was born out of the pure recognition of the basic human needs and meeting such needs have always generated a pulling of vast attention, support and ultimately; enormous wealth.

Think about these Guys;
Microsoft: Introduced Graphic inter-phase into computer and made it easier for anyone to use a computer. Bill Gates’ currently one of the world richest human being living.

Google: Google was founded by computer scientists Larry Page and Sergey Brin, They met in 1995 at Stanford University in California, while they were both studying for doctorates in computer science. They were both interested in finding a unique approach to retrieving relevant information from a massive set of data. Their first search engine technology was developed in their university dormitory and released in 1996. And today the name ‘Google’ became a ‘verb’ for ‘search’. As of 2006 Google ranked as the world’s most comprehensive search engine, providing Web searches in more than 100 countries.

Facebook: Facebook became the most successful social community online (in times of economic recessions) with a population of over 150 million and still counting and it is rated to be worth over 6 billion dollars. The 23 Years old

For instance, graduates always had to look for job adverts in the Nigerian dailies and probably had to post applications and CV’s manually but the advent of online forums like naijahotjobs, naijapals and other communities (by someone like you) made it a lot easier and It really paid off for these guys.

Most of these things are not taught in schools and ironically, people who make these major breaks are mostly people who dropped out of school. 2007, figures showed that 7 out of 10 Nigerian graduates are unemployed, the then minister of education held it this way “7 out of ten graduates are unemployable” I see it this way “7 out of ten Nigerians are in trouble if they don’t take their life personal and go beyond their job search”.

The statistics won’t get any better with the turn out rate of graduates from tertiary institutions these days. The time of economic recession has turned the rules around and new set of millionaires and billionaires are being raised. Bill gates once said “A fundamental new rule for business is that the Internet changes everything”. These times could be the best thing that ever happened to you if only you take action to get information. (the difference between you and the ‘big boys’ is how informed they are).

All you need for that change is to follow the steps below
1. Get Information
2. Get More Information and,
3. Act on your information.
